| The Resonance is a design that is centered around the chambered body construction. The combination of piezo saddles with nylon tape-wound strings creates a wonderfully distinctive tone that is enhanced with the resonant hollowed body. The concept of the design was to make it more universal in functionality, so that the unique tone could be used in more various settings than other basses of similar design.
The stock variation of this design typically features a chambered mahogany body topped with either a myrtle, maple, or walnut facing. A multilam maple neck is topped with either a rosewood or ebony fingerboard, fretted or fretless. Either a wooden ebony bridge or a Hipshot A style bridge is used. The wooden bridge creates the ultimate in deep tone, while the metal bridge allows for more balanced tonal presence and functional adjustablility. When desired, a magnetic pickup is added to the piezo system. This creates another spectrum of tonal variation that helps the bass have clarity and definition in more musical situations than the piezo alone.
