The standard guitar model is a single cut-away design with a tune-a-matic style bridge and two humbuckers. It has twenty-four medium/tall frets on an ebony fretboard. The scale length is 25.5". The neck is a three piece laminate of mahogany and figured maple that runs through the body. The back of the body is mahogany, with various exotic facings. The angled headstock has three tuners on each side.
I really do not have a standard pick-up that I use. I have found that guitarists in general are very individual about what they consider the right sound, and most have thier own favorite pick-ups that they specify. The standard wiring consists of an overall volume and tone, with a three-way selector switch for the pick-ups. More wiring, such as separate volumes and tones, or coil splitters, can be specified with out paying extra. Likewise, most pick-ups will not affect the price. With custom guitars, there are few limits. The overall body shape can change in any fashion, although odd shapes can affect the balance. The contour of the neck can be specified either with specific dimensions, or simply with the designation of thin, v-profile, fat, chunky, or baseball bat. Don't hesitate to ask for unique specifications. |
