Custom Alembic-Inspired 4-String
I always enjoy when a client hits me with the concept of doing an instrument in the style of an iconic design. Since he had spec'd the unique multipiece top with the flamed maple strips, I decided to use the flamed maple for the body back to help accent all of the unique body cutaways. The biggest challenge in a design like this is the patience needed for the extra hand sanding involved. The second biggest challenge is not stabbing oneself on the endless points around the body edges. The tiger inlay really completes the vibe, and ties in nicely with the gold hardware.
