Custom 9-String Headless Midi Bass
This bass posed a real challenge. Doing an extended range bass as headless can be problematic due to the lack of available hardware. Add to that the need for midi compatible piezo saddles in the bridge, and you've eliminated all normal options. Luckily, the crew at Hipshot came through with a totally custom bridge and headpiece to make it a reality. The brilliant red of the bloodwood was combined with the gold hardware for an eye catching color scheme. The use of bloodwood pickup covers made it come together perfectly, as the pickups take up a combined 21 square inches of real estate on the body.
