Headless Multi-scale 5-String Bass
This bass encompasses two concepts in one design. Doing a multi-scale fretboard creates some unique challenges when going headless, but the results were beautiful and functional. The simple trick of leaving the end of the neck squared off allowed for the shorter scale to place the 24th fret in an easily accessible position, while reducing the amount of heel. Custom pearl blocks needed to be cut to fit the wedge shaped frets, complimented by the pearloid binding. The natural quilted maple top and black hardware keep the bass visually refined, and the triple pickup set-up with piezo saddles give it a huge range of tones.
